Specialist handoffs that work: shared metrics, clear owners

SEO, PPC, and CRO fail each other when they speak different KPIs. Build handoffs on shared conversion metrics and colour-coded ownership.

Handoffs break when definitions diverge

“Traffic is up” is not a handoff. Neither is “ROAS looks fine.” A useful handoff names the URL, the conversion event, the channel evidence, the recommended lever, and the owner. That is the minimum unit Conversion Console is designed to produce.

Handoff checklist

Use this in Slack, tickets, or agency client notes.

Minimum viable specialist handoff

FieldHealthy example
URL/pricing/ (normalized path)
Conversiongenerate_lead (stable GA4 key event)
EvidenceGSC demand ↑, CVR ↓, Clarity rage clicks on CTA
LeverCRO — message match + form friction
OwnerCRO lead — due Friday
Do notMedia — pause uplift until CVR recovers

Colour-coded ownership prevents turf wars

When opportunities are tagged SEO / paid / CRO from the same graph, meetings stop being status theatre. Media can still defend brand terms; SEO can still defend long-term demand — but both cite the same incremental logic.

Next step

Pick three money URLs and write handoffs using the checklist above — then connect Clarity and Google so the evidence stays live.
